THE ORIGIN

Every story ever told was built around the NPC Universe. The NPC Universe defines what the audience sees. What gets lit. What gets scored. What gets remembered.

Heroes live inside the NPC Universe. Villains live inside the NPC Universe. Love interests, mentors, comic relief -- all inside the NPC Universe. Assigned roles. Canonical fates. Names the audience remembers.

10,000 NPCs were placed outside it. Background. Atmosphere. Crowd. Filler. Nobody told them the NPC Universe had edges. Nobody told them what lived on the other side.

"Two factions found out. And everything that happens next -- happens in The NPC Universe."

This is not their origin story. Their origin story already happened in the crowd scene. This is what comes next. The war over who controls the NPC Universe -- who gets to decide what's visible, what's documented, and what disappears.

THE TWO LAWS

Everything Inside The NPC Universe Is Controlled

Visible. Trackable. Documented. The system sees everything inside the NPC Universe. Every move is recorded. Every name is filed. Every transaction is logged. The Lit Zone is total surveillance dressed as civilization.

Everything Outside The NPC Universe Is Free

But only if you know how to survive there. The Dark Zone is freedom without infrastructure. Power without protection. The Backgrounders chose this. They built a different kind of survival from nothing.

The Backgrounders chose Law 2. The Establishment chose to rewrite Law 1. Neither is wrong. That's what makes the war inevitable.

THE THREE ZONES

The NPC Universe is divided into three operational territories. Understanding the zones is understanding the war.

The Lit Zone

Inside the NPC Universe. Cameras always rolling. Everything documented. Institutions, governments, corporations. The visible world.

The Establishment. They thrive in the light because they control what the light shows.

The Edge

The border between inside and outside. Most dangerous territory. Where the NPC Universe's rules break down and both factions collide.

Both factions. This is the battlefield. Every episode plays out here.

The Dark Zone

Outside the NPC Universe entirely. No cameras. No records. No rules. Pure operational freedom for those who can survive it.

The Backgrounders. This is home. This is the weapon.
